We recently had two of our senior developers on Aqui há Java [PT] talking about James Gosling’s programming language and its potential.

Belmiro Morais, a passionate gamer and software developer, started his career in 2010 on a game server. His next step was to take a software programming course that helped him understand computer science concepts. It has also confirmed his passion for this programming language and, nowadays, he’s working as a senior developer on a nearshore project.

It is quite different for Alexandre Freire since he made his first Java program almost 20 years ago (i.e., almost from the beginning). One of the most experienced Cleverti developers, Alexandre has also programmed in PHP, C++, Python and Cobol.

Despite coming from different generations, it was interesting to realise Alexandre and Belmiro agree on topics such as the excessive boilerplate of Java’s early versions.

During this episode, it was also possible to address the following questions:

  • What are the differences between the Java used 20 years ago and the Java used nowadays?
  • What are the most effective frameworks and packages?
  • Will Kotlin replace Java?

O PHP está Vivo! is a series of interviews conducted by Alexandre Freire (Tech Lead  at Cleverti), which seeks to understand why this programming language suffers widespread hatred today, exploring this programming language’s future and long-term viability.

Cristiano Barbosa  was the second guest on the show and associated PHP’s poor reputation to the version 4 of the language.

A fan of Laravel, Cristiano sees a virtuous future for this tecnology, denying the predicted end to this programming language on this web. PHP is alive, according to Cristiano!

During a series of interviews, Alexandre Freire discussed the widespread hate PHP suffers nowadays, exploring its future and long-term viability.

Rodolpho Lima was the first guest on the show, and he expressed his confidence in PHP’s robustness and health, citing Symfony and Laravel as two examples of excellent PHP frameworks.

A software engineering laboratory in college gave Rodolpho his first taste of programming. PHP was the first interpreted language he worked with after learning compiled languages such as C and C++.

PHP intrigued him because of the freedom it gave him as well as the lack of concern for the type of data. “A path of no return” was how he described his relationship with this programming language, which continues to this day.

Furthermore, our guest acknowledged that he would like to extend the development of APIs by incorporating unit tests. In his opinion this would give him a lot of security when introducing new code.

The twelfth episode of the Cleverti Podcast [PT] is out now! It was with tremendous pleasure that we enjoyed Alexandre Bento Freire as our guest!

He is more than a senior developer and Cleverti’s PHP Tech Lead; he’s a unique storyteller we appreciate hearing! Currently, he’s involved in another successful Nearshore software development project with a Domain Management Services Company.

Throughout an informal conversation of about 15 minutes, we covered topics such as the hate that PHP suffers in various software development forums.
Those who think this episode was a roast of PHP must be disappointed. There was still time to discuss the future of this programming language and the role of WordPress in it.

In between, with some fun in the mix, Alexandre saw himself in a comical situation we had to choose between two options:

a) For the rest of his life, he can exclusively use the virtual keyboard;

b) For the rest of his life, he can only program in the notebook.

The Cleverti Podcast is available on Cleverti’s YouTube channel and is shared on our digital channels like Facebook and LinkedIn.

It is with great joy that Cleverti celebrates the tenth episode of its Podcast. We can proudly say that, throughout these ten episodes, our employees had the opportunity to share their experiences and thoughts in a spontaneously and easy-going way.

In the last episode, we had the opportunity to chat with Bruno Cerqueira, Talent Acquisition at Cleverti. We found out what a Recruiter from a highly competitive market as IT Market should take into consideration. Candidates’ needs, remote work, and flexible work were some of the covered topics.

Bruno has studied Psychology and brought his passion for behavioural analysis to Cleverti’s Recruitment Department. He also notes that his role “should take in mind the assessment of the candidates’ needs, as well as the factors that lead them to seek a new opportunity”, otherwise the recruitment process becomes a one-sided interaction, without any interest to the candidate.

The Cleverti Podcast is available on Cleverti’s YouTube channel and is shared on our digital channels like Facebook and LinkedIn.

During the ninth episode of the Cleverti Podcast, we had the opportunity to discuss how to implement agile methodologies within companies. Cléon Fernandes, Scrum Master at Cleverti, admitted that he had never considered working on a non-agile model.

He also mentioned agile models provide the opportunity to inspect and adapt methodologies, requirements and architectures. Working on a predictive model was halfway to wasting money, lowering the development team’s morale and developing a low-quality quality product, according to Cléon.

The Cleverti Podcast is part of a knowledge-sharing initiative that Cleverti wants to develop with professionals in the software development sector.

In this chat, we talked about what it is like to be a developer among testers and some challenges that arise from that

Have you checked out our latest Podcast? This time we had a fantastic conversation with Paulo Cardiga and Pedro Pires.

Paulo is one of the most experienced guys in Cleverti’s QA and Testing area – he’s been with us since 2010 and has since been our Test Guru on a ton of different projects.

Pedro started as a developer, on the Microsoft stack (c # /. Net), but recently he was involved in the Test Automation area, where developer knowledge is very useful.

In this chat, we talked about what it is like to be a developer among testers and some challenges that arise from that. Both shared some of their experiences at Cleverti and where they see themselves, and the world of technology in general, in 5 years.

Software QA & Testing is one of the main services provided by Cleverti since the early days. During the past few years, we have also been seeing a huge increase in demand for test teams, especially in projects and customers who were initially interested only in the Software Development stack.

Last week we had our 3rd Cleverti Podcast. It was an amazing conversation with our Marketing Assistant Mário Martins, and the most recent Senior PHP Architect on Cleverti Alexandre Freire.

Alexandre travelled the World, and shared with us some truly unique experiences: like how it was to program for a living while living outside of his Country for months – Just imagine yourself, with just one big backpack on your shoulders, using public WIFIs from a crowded Asian train, delivering on a daily basis the work for a big Software Company.

Alexandre started programming slightly 30 years ago. At that time there was no backend/frontend paradigm. But when stacks spread apart, Alexandre specialized in the backend because he prefers the logic of applications.

Alexandre also told us the reason why in his opinion, Javascript is the King Language for the Web Development, and why Python is the Language of the Future.

Within the following 2 years, Alexandre sees himself working in Cleverti because he loves Software and our office environment. The only requirement is to take some weeks over the year, for more memorable Trips.
