Our client, a domain name management services company, partnered up with Cleverti for an ongoing project since January 2020, providing staff augmentation services for this domain name management services company.

This partnership came to place though a referral, while considering other resourcing and recruitment strategies at the same time. Soon, the conclusion was that Nearshoring offered our client the flexibility to upsize and downsize the development and QA team, in line with the changing demands of their product development roadmap.

Although various resourcing and recruitment strategies were considered, they ultimately decided that nearshoring was the best option. Cleverti was recommended as a reliable partner for staff augmentation, and the two companies have been working together ever since.

The Challenge

Our client sought to develop a next generation corporate domain name management and monitoring digital platform so it could manage, monitor and protect online domain name intellectual property.

Cyber-attacks, nowadays, are the main concern for companies since they have increased their capability to serve online channels. These risky potential attacks, who are increasing day by day, including online brand infringement, DNS and domain name hijacking which divert legitimate sales, can effectively steal personal information or even prevent businesses from operating, which makes this a problem to prevent 24/7.

The main objective was to create a platform that would enable its customers to view and manage online Intellectual Property assets, including domain names, SSL certificates, and DNS records, while monitoring the activity in the domain name space for potential IP infringement. This was crucial given the increasing risk of cyber-attacks, such as online brand infringement, DNS and domain name hijacking, which could divert legitimate sales, steal personal information, or even prevent businesses from operating. As such, it was required a top-performing team to develop and test the platform to ensure it was secure and effective.

Our Solution

It was crucial from the start that Cleverti had to bring a team of top performs for senior development and QA (Quality Assurance) positions, with the main objective to develop a platform that would enable Com Laude customers to view and manage online Intellectual Property assets including domain names, SSL certificates and DNS records whilst monitoring the activity in the domain name space for potential IP infringement.

The integration and strengthening our hires brought to the existing talent, who use an agile development methodology, was quickly proven, adding more help to scrum teams running in parallel, focused on a range of high value product development initiatives. This top performing help enabled our client to ramp up their product development efforts and reduce the time to market for key products and services.

The Final Outcome

Presenting the client with the right candidates right after the first interview was key, as it shortened the recruitment process and meant that the high-quality candidates came onboard in a timely manner. Also, ensuring a good relationship through effective account management makes the client review us as good partners, who’ve made great hires through us.

The collaboration between the two companies proved successful, as evidenced by a recent review on Clutch, a B2B website that publishes in-depth client reviews and reliable data-driven content. The review gave an overall score of 4.5 out of 5, with high marks for scheduling on time/deadlines (4.0), cost value/within estimates (4.5), quality service & deliverables (4.5), and NPS willing to refer (5.0).

Cleverti Review Clutch

According to the review, Cleverti was able to present the client with the right candidates soon after the first interview, which shortened the recruitment process and ensured that high-quality candidates came onboard in a timely manner. Effective account management also helped build a strong relationship between the two companies, with the client viewing Cleverti as a good partner that has made great hires.

Cleverti was an integral part of the entire process, participating in every stage and ensuring the success of the project and the satisfaction of all clients. The review praised Cleverti’s professionalism, expertise, and commitment to delivering high-quality work within budget and on time.

Overall, the partnership has been a great success, with both companies benefiting from each other’s strengths and expertise. By choosing the right partner for staff augmentation, our client was able to build a next-generation domain name management platform that meets the needs of its customers and helps protect their online intellectual property assets.

Q: Hi, Ahmed! First of all, thank you for accepting this interview. First, let me ask what motivated you to become a QA Engineer, and how was Cleverti introduced to you.

Ahmed (QA Engineer): Hello! you’re very welcome! I think it was mostly my passion for technology together with my love to work remotely. As for the career itself, it was something I developed over the years, slowly growing on me and today, I couldn’t see myself doing anything else.

Cleverti showed up in my life as a surprise through Viviane! She contacted me on Linkedin, we had a pleasant conversation, and here we are today.

Q: As an expert in this area, what are your predictions for AI and Machine Learning in software testing? Can we predict that these will become the standard in software testing?

Ahmed: Definitely! AI testing tools can help perform tests with AI-powered visual verifications, which, in turn, give out a range of various outcomes.

Organizations are already using AI for image-based testing, AI spidering, monitoring API testing, and automated testing tasks. AI can help you overcome challenges and accelerate the testing process without human intervention.

Evolution of Software Testing

It can predict client behaviour, detect fraudulence that is not captured with traditional functional tests, and assist in targeted marketing by replicating manual activities.

It eliminates test coverage overlaps, optimizes test automation, and improves agility and predictability through self-learning.

The QA teams can leverage AI testing tools to improve normal testing efforts with expedited time and greater accuracy!

Q: When it comes to cybersecurity, do you feel that Security As A Service will find a place in the market?

Ahmed: It already has found its place. For a bit of context, it allows companies to use an external provider to handle and manage cybersecurity.

It is now becoming the preferred security model for small and medium-sized businesses. SECaaS (Security as a Service) reduces upfront costs of security hardware, outsources and simplifies security management plus removes the need to employ highly trained (and expensive) security staff.

Furthermore, it avoids capital outlay and instead uses either a subscription or Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) model to reduce the total cost of ownership for your security platform.

In addition, it greatly reduces the amount of time your staff has to spend securing your network and maintaining security updates.

I believe it’s a great solution for those who need highly skilled network security experts, as they are costly. SECaaS grants you access to these experts without having them on your payroll.
